We replaced the large sliding door with a single exterior door and a countertop-height window, gaining valuable storage while thoughtfully framing views of the garden. The lowered countertop window also adjusted the sightline to screen a newly built second-story addition next door. A small island was removed to improve circulation and create a more open working area. The sink was relocated to the exterior wall, the peninsula was streamlined for everyday use, and new wood flooring and cabinetry brought warmth to the room. Custom solutions were developed to integrate cabinetry and lighting into the vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, resolving asymmetrical conditions and creating usable storage in angled spaces. Track lighting, bifold cabinet doors, a built in pantry with interior countertop, tiled paneling at the peninsula, and a concealed charging cubby complete a kitchen that balances thoughtful problem solving with a clean, modern feel suited for daily living.
