This historic home received a thoughtful kitchen remodel, including an attached breakfast nook and bathroom, with a focus on honoring its original character. What was once a sleeping porch, now used as a breakfast nook, had aging aluminum windows replaced with custom wood casement windows to match the historic detailing. Custom concealed pull-down screens were carefully recreated to replicate the original screen boxes. New inset shaker cabinets, Taj Mahal quartzite and a lighter palette replaced the dark finishes from a previous remodel, brightening the space without changing the layout. Oak flooring was installed, bringing natural warmth and continuity to the refreshed space. The bathroom remodel introduced meaningful functional improvements, including the removal of a dividing wall to expand the shower and the integration of storage within a drawer beneath the shower bench. Careful design planning ensured that the chair rail aligned precisely with the dividing shelf of the dual shampoo niches, while the placement of the sconces was thoughtfully coordinated to maintain visual balance and continuity throughout the space.
